Here's the Latest from California State Controller Chiang's Office re:SSI/SSP

Information for SSI/SSP Recipients

The lack of funds in the State treasury will force the State Controller’s Office to delay a variety of payments in February for 30 days. While the State’s share of SSI/SSP funding will be affected by this delay, this action is unlikely to affect the recipients of SSI/SSP during the delay period.
The Federal Social Security Administration, which administers both the state and federal share of the payments to elderly, blind and disabled recipients, has stated that it will continue to pay both the federal and state shares in February and likely March, if needed.
The State Controller's Office has asked the Social Security Administration to determine how long it will continue service, and that information will be posted on this site when it becomes available.
