RE: soc sec raises

Shirlee... not only is it a good hook but an additional one will be the fact that those who are on Medicare may see a good deal of that increase consumed by Premium increases and other potential medical cost hikes. It's a double-edged sword, as a matter of fact.

Another topic is the Free Clinic that is being held at the Sports Arena this week. Now, I believe the majority of those folks are going there for dental and vision treatment because none of the public healthcare benefits programs (Medicare and Medi-Cal in particular) offer D&V coverage.

But, how many of those people who are there are aware that for all other health needs there is the Low Income Health Plan in LA County called Healthy Way LA?

I wonder how enrollment in the plan is going?

National (and State) enrollment in the Pre-Existing Healthcare Plan (also from the Affordable Care Act) is much lower than was anticipated. A good deal of the low enrollment has to do with:
1. Insufficient Promotion
2. Six month waiting period
3. Insufficient Promotion

I suspect the same with HealthWay LA.

Just some things to think about. I'm going to post this on my blog, too.
