I saw this article this morning. It provides a good deal of insight into the workings of private disability insurance companies insisting that its applicants apply for Social Security regardless of the fact that they many cannot meet Social Security's definition of disability. No matter, they want the application submitted. Still wondering why some appeals are taking nearly two years?
