Half Way into January Already...

We're halfway through January and I haven't posted anything yet in 2009! Actually, I haven't posted anything for several months in spite of the fact that much has been happening.
Medicare D's open enrollment period ended on December 31, 2008. In spite of California's new budget catastrophe driven regulation that Medi-Cal has discontinued Medicare Part B premium payments for those dual eligibles (Medi-Cal-Medicare) with a Share of Cost of over $500, my phones have remained relatively quiet.
(For anyone who wants to know more about this, please visit The Center for Healthcare rights www.healthcarerights.org. They will hook you up with all the requisite information.)
On the Medi-Cal front, there havent' been any extreme changes announced recently. The 250% Working disabled program's enrollment is slowly ( and I mean SLOWLY ) increasing and that's a good thing. It continues to amaze me, however, that so few people know of the potential advantages of this program let alone that the program exists at all!
Go to www.chiip.org and www.db101.org to find out more about it and how it might apply to you. And, of course, you can always e-mail me if you have questions.
